Sorry for this delay - has to do with bad internet connection last days.
The "automatic" translator here on Blogger is ot the best so I will try to write this story in English to hopefully make it a little more easy for my friends that are not familiar with the Swedish language :-)
Walk to Galissas
I had decided to walk from Kini to Galissas. It's about 6-7 km and you could either take a path over the mountain or you can take the road. I was prepared to take the path but in the last minute I changed my mind and started to walk on the road. Thought that it could be dangerous if I got lost in the middle of nowhere :-). Well, it appeared to be the correct descision - otherwise this would not have happened:
After just a few meters walk a woman in a car stopped and offered me a lift. Well, I wanted to walk but she insisted and told me that it is a very long way and that she would drop me about half way as she was not going down to Galissas herself.
Well, during this few minutes drive she almost told me her life story; she is from Britain, been living here for fourty years, has a farm somewhere in the middle of the island where she brings dogs up (Cocker Spaniels King Charles, at the moment she has 16 dogs), has 6 children and 16 grandchildren, divorced since many years... And, she has a house down in Galissas, on the beach which she rents out weekly. This explain of course why she picked me up - she wanted to spread the information about this house to get more guests. However, when she dropped me at the way to Danakos she invited me to come and se the house and have a cold dring later this day. Why not I thought and accepted.
I had a wonderful walk through Danakos down to Galissas - fantastic landscape and you meet cows, sheep, donkeys, ponnies, horses, cats, dogs, hens.... and nice people to say Kalimera to. The walk took about 30 minutes.
In Galissas I walked up to the beautiful church from where you have a wonderful view.
I then had a swim at the nice little beach down behind the church. About 1 à clock I went to the house. I was expected and welcomed. There was this woman Lizanne, one of her daughters with husband, another couple from Mancheser who where on a short visit and signore Juan Carlos, a good looking man from Roma, Italia :-). He appeared to be Lizannes boyfriend - she is 70 something and he is 68. Well Lizanne told me that it was a kind of "on-and-off" relation since many, many years. At the moment it was "on".
The house:
I was served a refreshing cold drink (Pims, lemonade, fresh fruit, mint and ice) and we where sitting on the terrace with this fantastic view and had a good and interesting conversation. I was also showed around inside the house, very nice.
Well, the couple from Manchester left and then Lizanne asked me if I wanted to stay for lunch. Great! Juan Carlos made a just wonderful pasta with fresh tomatoes, olives, onion and garlice. Absolute al dente of course when made by an italian man! And white wine!
After about two hours I thanked them a lot for there great hospitality and I walked back to the little beach for another swim. About 6.30 I started my walk back to Kini through Danakos. Took me about 1,5 hour. Back in Kini I was very tired but also very happy. What a day!
Almost back in Kini:
